How are CBD distillates and hemp distillates produced?
There are numerous terms around cannabidiol (CBD). It is often not easy to see the differences. This applies especially to the products CBD Isolate and CBD Distillate.
CBD distillate is a hemp concentrate that has a high CBD content. The starting point of our distillates is the raw extract of the hemp plant, which is processed and distilled in the manufacturing process. This removes waxes, lipids and other plant substances from the extract.
Distillation basically describes the purification and separation of substances by evaporation and subsequent re-liquefaction – in this way, unwanted components can be separated out and desired components can be retained undamaged. The advantage of this separation process is that we do not use any harmful substances or solvents that could contaminate the extract.
What remains is a product that is characterised by a particularly high and pure substance content, but still contains the valuable terpenes of the hemp plant as well as a small proportion of other cannabinoids. The cannabinoid THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is also removed from the extract by distillation.
